  • Specifics:  Calatheas can be difficult until you understand their needs. They need higher humidity and good airflow.  They want to be pretty consistently moist (let top of soil dry), but not wet.  If humidity is too low, leaves may crisp.  These plants do fold their leaves up at night and down during the day, earning them the nickname "prayer plants" although this name usually refers to Marantas.
