- Prefers medium to bright, indirect light but will tolerate lower light as well
- Well-draining soil with some extra moisture retention such as peat or coco coir
- Prefers filtered or distilled water - water when 25% dry but do not allow roots to sit in water
- Pet friendly (non-toxic)
- Skill level: Difficult
- Fertilize carefully - organic or 1/2 strength synthetic
- Specifics: Calatheas can be difficult until you understand their needs. They want to be consistently moist (let just top 25% of soil dry), but not soggy. Also nicknamed "Prayer plant" as the leaves do fold up at night and lay down during the day.
