Pet-friendly Plants

Many houseplants are toxic if ingested, and some have sap that can irritate the skin (usually only when you cut into the plant).  However, I don't want to scare anyone - you've been around houseplants all of your life and never had problems.  But if you have a baby or toddler who would actually mess with a plant, or if you have a cat, dog or bird that would - just check.  It's in the descriptions of the plants, but I still encourage you to check.  

Most are just foul-tasting and bitter, and might cause mouth irritation or stomach upset.  This generally will stop children or pets from eating it.   It's highly unlikely that a house plant will cause serious harm, but I just want you to be aware.

Lilies are especially dangerous for cats, and Sago Palms are extremely toxic - so I won't order them.

Some pet-safe plants include Calatheas, Marantas, Spider Plants, Hoya and Peperomia.
